ABOUT
I'm Nathan Clendenin, a family photographer in Durham, North Carolina, working with families from Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Cary and across the Triangle. My background is in photojournalism, and I have two decades of experience capturing moments that tell a story. That work has earned 10 Emmy Awards for journalism and storytelling. My wife, Rebecca, and I have four children and are often hosting an international student. We love community, camping and visiting National Parks across the U.S.
Photojournalism is why I wait for a real moment instead of staging one. Almost every family warns me that someone in the group hates having their picture taken, sometimes a middle kid, often a parent. That's the person I'm quietly working on, and they're usually the reason the photos end up feeling like your family instead of a photo shoot.
